Rod Forging Specs
Aluminum rods are best suited for drag racing, tractor pulling, mud bog, Bonneville, and short endurance oval and road racing. Can be used for high performance street, with outside cold air temperature as the limiting factor, for approximately 30,000-40,000 miles. Ideal for R&D and prototype engines, before a production run of street rods for endurance engines, as they can be manufactured quickly.

| NEW ULTRA - LITE SMALL BLOCK ROD |
| Howards has a brand new ultra-lite small block gorging. It features a 3/8" rod bolt and is designed to work with light weight piston/pin assemblies for high rpm motors. All unnecessary material has been removed to produce one of the lightest rods in the industry. Our typical 6.000" small journal rod weighs 460 grams! It is stocked in 5.700" & 6.000", in both large & small journal. See our rod forging specs above for forging limitations. It replaces all small block "F" series rods in the catalog, except where rod length is less than 5.600". Please substitute a "D" into the part number in the catalog for this new rod. |
